MAKE YOUR EVENT COME ALIVE

Our games and simulations add value, novelty and enjoyment to an event.  They make the experience more memorable and improve the learning experience. Here are three ways in which they can contribute:

  • Creating a shared experience.

Team spirit can be enhanced by quite simple things. For example, cooperating successfully in an enjoyable task.  It does not have to be work related; just something that will present a challenge and invite the use of skill. The Organisation Game and Superteam Challenge both provide a framework for this type of event.

  • Supporting a conference theme.

The experiential nature of a game or simulation gives participants the opportunity to put theory into practice. Earlier this year Oast Communications included the The Way Forward in their bi-annual staff away day.  The game supported their objective of increasing financial awareness amongst staff.

  • Delivering the message.

You have a message that you need to deliver but a day devoted to lectures and brainstorming needs some variety. Games and simulations offer an alternative vehicle for introducing new ideas and demonstrating their relevance. The day can be structured around a series of activities each looking at the subject from a different perspective.  Hewlett Packard (Labs) Bristol have a two day
workshop using games and storytelling to look at the innovation process. A department of Woolworth planned their annual conference around a series of games dealing with customer service.

PREVIEW KNOWLEDGE SHARING
"UNTYING THE KNOWLEDGE KNOT"

Our new package allows trainers to examine some of the reasons for poor knowledge sharing.  It highlights the steps that can be taken by individuals and organisations to improve the process.  The package will be available from 1 October. Preview literature is available from the web site or by contacting the office.
