USE OUR GAMES AND ACTIVITIES TO SUPPORT YOUR AWAY DAYS,
CONFERENCES AND EVENTS
Last month we ran an away day on the joint themes of diversity and team working. The Competition Directorate, a section of the DTI, highlighted the issue of diversity as an area where greater awareness and understanding would be beneficial. We liased with a team from the Directorate and put together a series of activities to encourage discussion and debate.
Diversity was designed into the programme by including a variety of activities, with different facilitators, delivery mechanisms and feedback sessions. It also provided the subject matter for some activities. Participants worked in a number of different groups during the event enabling them to polish their team working skills.
If you would like to know how we could help you with an event telephone the office and ask to speak to Christine (0118 982 1115).
GET YOUR NEW RECRUITS UP AND RUNNING
This season we have examined our catalogue and highlighted games to ensure you get the most from your new recruits. The games we have selected all focus on a skill that will improve the recruits' understanding of how a business operates, and helps them develop the personal skills required to make an effective contribution.
Many educational courses now emphasise the need for students to be 'work ready' by including elements of key skills in their programmes. Applying concepts with little or no work experience is not the same as dealing with those same concepts when there are constant interruptions, a desk full of paper and your manager has just asked you for the latest sales figures.
Use the games as part of your induction to encourage the development of crucial work skills and assist staff in developing their own personal networks.
In a competitive environment recruiting the right staff is time consuming and costly. Can you afford not to support their development?
