Three good reasons to visit stand 1073 at HRD

  March 27th, 2003
At the annual HRD exhibition (Olympia : April 8th -10th ) Elgood Effective Learning will be addressing three key issues.

1. Improve your recruitment practices and ensure staff retention
Every year poor recruitment decisions and lack of effort when managing staff cost organisations millions. Research by the CIPD shows that 24% of new recruits leave their job in the first six months at an average cost of £3,462 per recruit. Recruit and Retain, our newest business simulation, clearly demonstrates how adopting good practice will improve retention rates and reduce the costs associated with high staff turnover. The game will be on display throughout the show and on Wednesday 9th between 2.45 and 3.30 visitors will have an opportunity to see it close up in the Learning Arena.

1. Get the best from your feedback forms.
Research undertaken by Elgood Effective Learning shows that despite the emphasis on performance measures such as ROI many organisations still rely on feedback forms to evaluate their training. We are, therefore, pleased to welcome Caroline Jarrett from Effortmark Limited to our stand on Thursday 10th between 11.00 and 2.00pm. Caroline, an expert in the design of forms, will be offering advice to those who bring their forms for assessment. Effective feedback will enable you to demonstrate the benefits derived from your courses and highlight ways to make them even more effective.

2. Discover how to enrich your training blend with Business Simulations and Management Games.
You want to include a game in your training activities but you don't know where to start or how to explain the benefits in a pragmatic manner to your clients and colleagues. Elgood Effective Learning can offer two ideas to help you. Christine Elgood has contributed an article ' Adding games to your training blend: steps to get your started' to the April issue of Training Journal. The article gives those who wish to design their own games a simple step by step guide. For those whose difficulty is explaining the benefits derived from using games the company has prepared a brief synopsis of the arguments and presented them in a straightforward manner. Copies of this information sheet will be available from the stand.
